Show and Tell Monday

Pink Friday's Linen and Lace

Linens and lace tenderly woven into the fabric of a life. They first surround when we are wrapped in the heirloom christening gown. Yellowed by time but preserved with love, brought out on a day that is filled with expectant joy. A treasure carefully saved by a mother in each generation, along with the hope for a beautiful life to come. The simple elegance of linens and lace remains in our memories -later we're struck by the beauty of a simple lace hankie that catches our eye, lying in a grandmother's lavender-scented drawer. Linens and lace carefully collected and stored within a handmade cedar chest, for yet another day of joyful expectation. Feelings of love and anticipation lie behind each piece a young girl selects to adorn her one-day home with grace. She envisions a future life of bliss as she tenderly folds every piece and stores it away, to lie patiently in wait for its turn to come. Linens and lace draped over a vintage boudoir chair, in the corner of a quite room. Perhaps it is a small piece of handmade lace, or perhaps it is a layer, that found its way into her bridal gown. She thinks of the women who have worn linens and lace before her on a day like this. A precious object of beauty... delicate and strong, as she herself is. In the kitchen where she works to care for her family, she has hung the first curtains of spring. Linens and lace swaying gently in the breeze, while the sunlight dances through their intricate designs.

Show and Tell Monday at Make Mine Pink

Well it is Monday again. Time to show off what we have been working on at http://makeminepink.com/

I finished 1 side of the Shoe and Roses table scarf and 1/2 finished the other side. So I'll post a pic when done.

This week I have been working on a secret. The Make Mine Pink "Getting Down to Business" Retreat is coming up next month and I am one of the sponsors. As a sponsor I get to display my business in a 2x2 foot table top. So I am working on something really interesting to show case my embroidery. You will have to be there to see it though. No peeks till then.

Also this week my cousin came by to show off her new puppy. Her name is Bella and she is a Morky. A Morky is a breed from a Yorky and a Maltese. You can't tell now but Bell as a cute little dress on and she did have bows on her ears. I gave my cousin some mini-yo-yo's to make hair clips for her and she has promised pictures of them.

The worlds longest yard sale

The longest yard sale starts August 7 and runs through the weekend. I will be driving to Russelville Kentucky to hunt for linens and such. Is anyone else going? If so where will your stops be? What will you be looking for? I will be taking a recorder and doing interviews for the radio show.

Join Me For a Tea Party

One of my favorite things to write or tell stories about are mysteries. I have also, always wanted to have a round-robin mystery letter. I would start the mystery by writing to a friend, they, in turn, would add to the mystery and return it to me. We would go about this until the mystery is resolved and could actually publish a story with our writings. So join me for a "spot of tea" and write a note to a friend.
