More Yo-Yo's for Baby Quilt

I have purchased some more of the darker pink and will use some white yo-yo's to finish the quilt. I sure takes a bunch of those little yo-yo's to make a baby quilt.

So get in line yo-yo's, it's time to make a quilt!

How to make a yo-yo

I use a cd - like a music cd to draw circles on fabric

Cut out the circles

Thread your needle with matching thread

Turn about 1/4 inch under to wrong side and stitch all around the circle

Pull the thread to gather

Tie off the thread

And Wala you have a yo-yo

Show and Tell Monday at Make Mine Pink

A few weeks ago I showed off two yo-yo's I made -- I now have over 300 and am ready to turn all these little yo-yo's into a yo-yo quilt. It will be a small quilt because 300 sounds like a lot but it really does take a lot of yo-yo to make one.

Show and Tell Monday at MMP

Here are two items I have worked on this week. On the little purse, I need to add a button and snap. As you can see these two yo-yo's are different shapes. The round ones will be the quilt lined with the darker pink flower yo-yo's. Aren't they just the cutest?

Show and Tell Monday

I love show and tell Mondays because it gives me a chance to share with everyone what I'm working on, new products and to celebrate with all my pink sisters at Make Mine Pink.

Besides adding some vintage handkerchiefs, a vintage dresser scarf, and a feed sack I have finished these products myself.

Yo-Yo Garland

I am listing this yo-yo garland made from Christmas fabrics on my website http://beloved-creations.com/ under the Christmas and Winter Category. It measures 107 inches, which is almost 9 feet.

I will be adding some additional yo-yo garlands next week, after I come back from Virginia on Holiday.

Two of my favorite things -- Coffe & Yo-Yo

I have made these cute coffee cup sleeves to sell in my website. Each one is different, many with yo-yo's, buttons, and fun embroidery.

I Survived Denbigh Days 2007

The only thing good about this day was the wonderful people I met. Every one talked about how they used to know some one who made yo-yo quilts. The wind was blowing so strong, that it blew away those covers everyone uses at fairs to keep the sun off them. Even the mayor's cover flew away. It was a struggle all day to keep my light weight embroidery from blowing all around. I put water bottle on every stack. I also had those fold out dryer racks to hang some of my quilt blocks on and they keep bowing down. The lady next to me had a Christmas Tree with ornaments and the tree went flying away and most of the ornaments broke. The only people making any money where the food vendors. So all and all it was a bust -- But I had a great time.

Yo-Yo Quilt Table Runner

Here is my very first project with all those yo-yo's I have made. It is a table runner and I have made two squares to set dishes on like bowls, etc. I do love make these yo-yo's and over the winter months I hope to make a bed quilt or at least a lap quilt.
